Rod was born in 1958 in Kennewick, WA. His interest in art began at an early age while observing his older brother painting landscapes. In 1985 he moved to Seattle to attend the Seattle Art Institute, graduating with his degree in visual communications.
Soon after graduating, he started a full time job as a union plasterer while freelancing in commercial art. Rod is now retired and able to devote much of his time perfecting his style of fine art. He predominately paints with oils, using a palette knife to create texture. He works out of his studio, also enjoying the inspirational beauty of nature while painting on location.
Rod strives to create a personal connection with each painting whether it creates a memory, tells a story, or simply reflects life around us. He is currently working on projects that will be displayed in upcoming art events.
